MENTORING
In today’s society, young people are inundated with images and peer pressure beyond those of even a few years ago. The influx of heavy social media interactions oftentimes leads to a feeling of isolation and “not fitting into” a perceived ideology. SOW Harvest Inc. believes that mentorship can provide the segue and human connections that are often missing in the technology infused society.
Our organization has a two-tier mentorship program:
Connect the Student With a Peer
Pair the Student with an Adult Mentor (we try to pair students with adults that share interests with the student)
The student and peer have contact a minimum of twice a month. The student and mentor communicate a minimum of once a month; which may or may not include an activity.
THE INVESTMENT FOR THIS INITIATIVE IS MINIMAL.
