TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT OUR STUDENTS HAD TO SAY

Sow Harvest opened my eyes to possibilities that I did not know existed. The counselor encouraged me to look at colleges and cities that I always thought were not for me. I cannot say how glad I am that I had the initial consultation and then signed up. I would recommend Sow Harvest to all high school students.

I came to Sow Harvest as a transfer student with the belief that I had very limited options. Even more so than that, I was suffering from low self-esteem because I felt like having to transfer meant that I was a failure. But that counselor, never contributed to my “pity party/woes is me” campaign. Instead I was instructed to look at my unfortunate circumstances as an opportunity for a fresh start. The counselor would always say “time is going to pass whether your do this or not so you might as well do it”. In addition, the counselor reviewed why my former school may not have been a “good fit”. That viewpoint help me move beyond where I was - -to where I wanted to end up. GO Sow Harvest you motivated me.

I was once a student who just hated the structure of school, so I left. Soon I learned that I could not get a decent job anywhere. Then my mother hooked me up with a counselor so that I could at least get my GED. At first, it was rough because I was resistant. But the counselor never gave up on me and now today not only did I pass the GED, I saw that I had good qualities and [a] future. College has become a reality when it was only something I never thought would happen to me

My initial contact with Sow Harvest actually started with community service. Although already a college student, I really had no direction as to what I was going to do when I graduated. That community service contact became an introduction to Career Counseling. The advice and suggestions given were so specific. It had me thinking more than superficially. I was impressed with the insight that the counselor provided. The counselor will never know how much the time and attention that was given really meant to me. Those consultations or “talks” as they were called; rekindled confidence in my ability to have an impact on the world. Thank you does not seem adequate for the insight and attention given to me. But Thank You Sow Harvest anyway.
